On The Curb

These are a few of my favorite things.

I am sorry to report there will be no festive displays of rainbow food today. Gab crapped out on me at the last minute and decided to go for one of those extended coma naps. I tried rousing her only to find a child worthy of an exorcism. So, she and I stayed home while E enjoyed his time away. The peach cobbler pan came home empty; apparently, everyone liked it. I have no idea how it tasted as none was left over and I’ve never made one before. Oh, well.

I’m slowly pecking away at a meme, but that might not see the light of day until 2008. You see, it’s a meme wherein you list positive attributes about yourself. I have a hard time doing that without feeling like a gigantic pompous arse. But, it’s coming. Eventually.

Today I’ll post a few photos I like. Something to brighten the dreary day both inside and out. (E’s third day home all day is 3 days too much for me.)

Toe lickin’ good. Gab is around 3 months old in this first photo. She was quite the chunker. And, she lurrrved slurping on her toes. Changing her diaper was quite a challenge as it was the perfect position for some personal toe sucking. She never tired of munching on her toes…as long as I left her there on the changing table, she’d gourmet buffet herself. She never took a pacifier…only her own feet and my knockers.

We toured around the southeast last year with Gav and his competitive soccer stint. (I don’t know that we’ll try that bag of shiznit again. I’ll post one day about how our little area makes soccer for the elite. Cap gets in my eyes.It really is quite disgusting. It’s a ball and a field of grass people! Why the thousands of dollars necessary? Pfft.) Here is Gab along side the blazing soccer fields in Memphis, TN. I brought a cap to spare my delicate angel’s bottom face, but Gab always prefers my digs over hers. I could perch a bag of rocks atop my head and she’d decide to call it her own. A bag of rocks with creepy crawly spiders and flying cockroaches. Yes, she would love that on her head.

gavgab.jpgDon’t you just love it when kids are affectionate with one another? Gav and Gab get along pretty well most of the time. He does find it humorous to drive her nuts on occasion. And, vice versa. But, overall, they really are amazing together. I worried a bit while I was pregnant with Gab as to how Gav might be with her being that it was just the two of us for so long. But, he really has been awesome. (mmm, you know it’s good when I use the word ‘awesome’) My brothers, P and J, are 12 and 10 years older than myself. P was always looking out for me and being the protector whereas J reveled a bit more in the little sister torture antics. It’s interesting to watch the relationship between Gav and Gab blossom…he does both the protecting and torturing. But, you can tell they love each other.

gavgabzoo.jpgThis was taken earlier in the Fall at the petting zoo of our local zoo. I just love this photo. See, Gav not only drives his sister nuts, he also saves some torture for the animals. Here, he kept barely touching the sheep’s ear so it would flicker wildly. Gab got the biggest kick out of it. I finally had to drag the two of them away before the poor sheep decided to go all kung-fu farm animal on their butts.

Hope you’re having a groovy weekend!
