On The Curb

All About A

April 1, 2008 · 11 Comments

Alright. Being a masochist, I’m going for NaBloPoMo in April. See what sleep deprivation and dehydration via taataas will do to a person. All those nights when I had zilch to say and here I go again. So sorry to torture you more. I can jack your eyelids open and steadily drip water in your eyes if you prefer.

The theme this month is LETTERS. Whatever variation on letters you choose to take. Instead of writing a Dear Jose letter each day, I’m opting for going through the alphabet one letter per day and telling you what about that particular letter makes me want to live another day. There are 26 days in April, right?

And, without further ‘A’do…

AAAAaaaaaaa

  • Big Al’s SmilesAlani, my cute little dimpled orange tree
  • Alice Smith – She’s my latest repeat play artist. I play the first two songs from her album For Lovers, Dreamers, and Me, “Dream” (great for exercising your vocal chords in the shower…also wards off any stray dogs within a 5-mile radius upon such exercising) and “Woodstock” (just a fun little diddy), over and over and over.

Well, that was quick.

**Updated as I forgot my latest musical obsession…

  • Across The Universe -  I rented this a few weekends ago, not thinking I would really enjoy it (then why the hell did i rent it?  we try not to rent more than 3 at a time and e was pushing for 3:10 to Yuma as the 3rd choice…westerns, bluck…across the universe was nearby and i just HAD to watch it ;-) ).  The first few minutes didn’t do anything for me, but then I was pulled in and became obsessed with it.  I watched every single ’special feature’ on both discs and even went so far as to watch the entire movie again with director’s comments.  If you absolutely loathe the Beatles and musicals, well this isn’t for you.  But, if you have the tiniest capacity to withstand either/both, you might enjoy it.  And, if you’re into hotties with puppy dog eyes, mee-yow.

You crazy woman! You’re doing it again?

Hmmmm…I’m still on the fence. Going to see if I can post daily for the next week or so and if I manage it then maybe I’ll officially consider myself part of NaBloPoMo, March edition.

I KNOW!! Crazy, isn’t it? But, I figure if I stick with the theme this time, it should be easier. Except the letter ‘x’…Xerox copy machines and xylophones don’t particularly do much for me.

Your vacation sounded lovely minus the gobs of snow. Oh, and I love your husband’s photo site. He has some clever captions…what was it?…The Snowman Goeth. Funny. :-)

Been wondering what you’re going to do after you run out of letters of the alphabet, too. Start going through the Greek or Cyrillic alphabets instead? Oh, upsilon! You wacky letter, you!

Glad you like the hubby’s photoblog. He’s been having fun scouring through old photo directories looking for stuff. And yeah, I have to admit he can be pretty funny. :-)

Oh! And for ‘x’ there’s always Xanadu! Zanaduuuuuuuu-ooo-ooo!

    Oh god, I’m dating myself, aren’t I?

    I misspelled it with a Z. I’m such a goof.

OK…I’ll stop spamming this entry with comments now. Bye, Dee.

Mary Lynn, you have t-t-t-too much time on your hands. ;-)

Xanadu. Definitely! I performed my first baton twirling routine to that song. So, there. Ditto dated myself. Feel better?

and alani is the best A i can think of :-) that chick is too cute!

i actually have to watch across the universe. my brother-the-doctor even made a point of telling me that i would like that movie; usually, he calls me only to tell me that someone’s head has been severed or somesuch ;)

I liked Across the Universe too. Have you seen Once yet? I suffered through 3:10 to Yuma for my DH, so you should too :-) It wasn’t terrible.

Ah hell! In the spirit of this theme…I’ll have to start each of my comments with the letter you’ve chosen.

I’ve got my “X” word all ready. Bwuahaha!!
